I'm never going to turn down the opportunity to decorate. This means that I fully embrace decorating for every new season, holiday and special occasion. When it comes to decorating for holidays, I can imagine that Valentine's day is not one that comes to mind.
Home decor, however, is about fully embracing each season and moment of life. It enhances what you are feeling and experiencing with those around you. It gets you in the right mind frame, thinking about what matters and excited about celebrating even life's smallest moments.
This doesn't mean you have to cover your whole home is pink and red hearts or stick baby cupids on your wall. Even the most subtle or smallest change in your home can add new energy to the space!
Here are some easy ways you can add a little love to your home without going overboard!

1. Flowers
The first and easiest way to decorate for valentines day is with flowers. Tulips and roses are obvious choices but go for your favorite flowers - mine are ranunculus, or buttercups! Place them around your home (faux or real) in vases, place a garland on the mantel or staircase, hang them on the wall, or from the ceiling!

2. Swap out towels, pillow covers, and throws
Another effective way to introduce subtle Valentine's decor into your home is by making subtle swaps to your textiles. Opt for subtle pinks, reds, and creams to get the sweet style of this holiday present in your home. This is sweet and the color change will bring a little joy and reminder of spring into your home even though we still have a while before the seasons change.
Pro tip: Instead of buying new pillows for every season, use pillow covers instead! This saves a lot of space and then at any time if you get tired of your pillows you can swap them out.

3. Add fun garland!
Like with the flowers, you can add fun heart-shaped or pom pom garland for a cutesy subtle touch. You can either DIY these or buy them! Add these on an open wall or on a mantel.

4. Candles
Candles are an easy, romantic way to make it feel like valentines! Containerless candles of various sizes in your favorite scent will make the room seem sweet, cozy and warm. Place them in groups together in varying heights and sizes. Use odd numbers and place them on any or all surfaces that are safe for fire. Whether you light these candles or just use them as decor, this is a simple way to add Valentine's decor.
Utilize one or all of these to make your home seem effortlessly ready for Valentine's Day!
